Health Risk Mitigation Plan – Updated Nov 2025

Our Covid safe plan can be found here.

  • 1. Healthy People are Most Welcome:
  • Our weekly dances are vibrant and active occasions with more than fifty dancers, support staff, DJs and dance volunteers attending; more than eighty people in the one space. While we provide hand sanitiser for use by all and face masks are also available, the close proximity of so many people means that we must be vigilant against common infections. A number of our regular dancers have health concerns and are particularly vulnerable.

  • 2. Keeping Everyone Healthy:
  • We want everyone attending our dances to be healthy and well. If you are feeling a bit off colour please stay home until all symptoms have passed and you are well again to mix with the more than eighty people who attend our weekly events.

LPDG committee members and dance volunteers prepare the venue by opening doors and windows and turning on reverse cycle air-conditioning to ensure adequate air circulation. However, infections such as colds, ‘flu and Covid are easily spread if we aren’t all mindful. It is important that if anyone is not fully well they stay at home and only re-attend dances when the risk of infection has passed.

Those who are not well are invited to attend our dances by Zoom. Details are available on our website with a link to our TryBooking page.

The LPDG committee reserves the right to request people who are obviously unwell to leave the venue and return home. In this unlikely event assistance will be provided to ensure contacts are advised and transport arranged.

  • 3. Medical Emergencies:
  • Occasionally an attendee may have a medical emergency that necessitates first aid being provided. While not medical practitioners, LPDG volunteers will apply first aid and support to the best of the abilities of those present, and if necessary, will call an ambulance. LPDG will ensure that emergency contacts are advised as soon as possible. It is important that each dancer’s medical information is advised to LPDG and it, plus emergency contact details, are kept up to date.

  • 4. Drinking Water:
  • We strongly recommend that all attendees bring their own drinking water bottle and drink regularly to keep hydrated. Each person having their own water bottle is safer and more hygienic, however drinking water will be supplied if needed.

  • 5. Food:
  • Please do not bring food to our dance events.

  • 6. Smoking:
  • Please note smoking or vaping is not allowed at any LPDG event, and is not permitted on the grounds of the Diamond Valley Special Development School.
