Covid Safe Plan – Updated May 2022

  • Covid-19 Risk Mitigation:
  • In accordance with current Victorian Government requirements and with full consideration of the risks to, and needs of attendees in a sensitive setting, the following requirements will apply to all those attending the dances in-person.

  • • All attendees are to be fully vaccinated.
  • • Entry to the dance (or participation by Zoom) is only by ticket available through Trybooking linked at the top of this page.
  • • The venue attendance limit is ninety persons.
  • • All persons working at the dance venue are to wear face masks (committee, volunteers, support workers, DJ/musicians (while not performing), parents & supporters).
  • • Dancers are encouraged to wear face masks but it is not mandatory.
  • • Physical distancing is encouraged.
  • • All attendees will be recorded on an attendance list.
  • • All attendees are required to hand sanitise on entry.
  • • Natural ventilation of the venue will be maximised, and air conditioning and an air purifier will be utilised.
  • • Other than ticket holders no other person will be permitted in the venue. Drivers are to wait at the door to collect passengers.
  • • Venue cleaning will be by DVSDS contract cleaners.
  • • The LPDG Inc committee will appoint an Event Manager for each dance to manage the event and to ensure compliance with the LPDG Code of Conduct and this plan.
  • Covid Reporting:
  • • Any person who attends a dance and then tests Covid positive (PCR or RAT) within seven days is requested to inform LPDG Inc by email (lpdginc40@gmail.com).
  • • If there are five or more cases from one event LPDG Inc is required to inform the DHHS using the Covid 19 outbreak notification form.
  • • LPDG Inc will attempt to contact and advise all attendees.
  • • The LPDG website will have a notification update.
  • Event Staffing:
  • To adequately staff each dance seven persons are required:
  • Event Manager, entry door supervisor (one), queue supervisor (one), reception desk (two), dance hall staff (two).
  • Event Manager: Manages the event and ensures compliance with this plan and the LPDG Code of Conduct, briefs attendees before and after dancing, answers questions as required. Unlocks the building for entry and secures the building at conclusion.
  • Entry Door supervisor: Welcomes attendees, checks ticketed entry, controls crowding of the entry area, and prevents other than ticketed persons entering the venue (such as drivers). Remains at the entry door throughout and assists with departure of attendees at conclusion of dance.
  • Queue Supervisor: maintains queue spacing and prevents crowding, assists with departure of attendees at conclusion of dance and refurbishing the hall.
  • Reception Desk Staff: confirm Trybooking list details, complete attendance list details, issue lanyard and name card, check and follow up attendance list details as required. Assist with information and answer questions, staff the reception desk throughout.
  • Dance hall staff: open all external doors and windows, turn on lighting, air conditioning and air purifier, arrange furniture, and tape off open external door and kitchen door. At conclusion close windows and doors, turn off equipment, restore furniture and secure external and kitchen doors.
  • Timings:
  • 6.00 – 6.30 pm: workers briefing, set up hall, DJ/Musicians preparation.
  • 6.30 – 7.00 pm: dancers and support staff arrive and are admitted.
  • 7.00 – 8.25 pm: Event Manager briefing, then dancing.
  • 8.25 pm: Dance concludes. Event Manager farewells dancers and advertises future dances.
  • 8.30 pm – 9.00 pm: Departure of dancers and support staff, closure hall windows and doors. Debrief of workers. Hall secured and workers depart.
